A SPRING BREAK IN PARIS!  ALL INCLUSIVE!!!

This is a perfect time of year to visit Paris! There won’t be the summertime crowds and the winter chill gives way to café weather. This trip includes all meals which makes this affordable & easy! This is an ideal trip for
mother/daughter of any age, families, or even a student by themselves!  (They’ll be in good hands!)  You’ll discover the wonders of Paris—one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  We’ll visit the Eiffel Tower, marvel at the Mona Lisa, try fabulous pastries and take in all the “must see” sights of Paris.  We’ll also spend a half day at Versailles!    Accommodations will be in a 3-star hotel in a star hotel, including breakfast.  Meals are also included--nothing fancy--sandwiches at lunch and inexpensive dinners in the evening!!  We may even to French McDonald's once or twice! The menu is different!  For adults, alcohol is not included.

DAY ONE

We depart on US Airways for our transatlantic journey to France. We overnight on the plane. Please make your own air reservation. The group will be travelling on the nonstop flight from Charlotte to Paris

DAY TWO

We arrive in Paris Charles de Gaulle in the morning and will take a bus into Paris. We then walk 10 minutes to our hotel.  We will most likely stay at the Holiday Inn St. Germain.  a comfortable hotel with a charming and very accommodating staff.  It is in a lovely Left Bank area with boutiques and pastry shops. Quite lively and fun--especially for students!  We will freshen up and then head out!  I suggest we try to not rest until bedtime!   We will first visit the Place de la Concorde, where Marie Antoinette was guillotined!  .  We can then walk through the famous Tuileries Gardens and cross the river on our way to the Cathedral of Notre Dame!   We can spend the rest of the day wandering through the Left Bank, find a quick place for dinner and then crash!

DAY THREE

We’ll awaken as early as we can. This is the day that most people have a hard time getting up!  After breakfast, we’ll begin our day at the famous Musée du Louvre, home to Mona Lisa.   We’ll also see the Venus de Milo.  We can spend as long or as little time as we wish in the museum!   Across the street, we’ll visit the PalaisRoyale. It has a splendid garden and courtyard.  We can then walk along the rue de Rivoli where the famous souvenir shops are!   If we have the energy, we can walk to the Place Vendôme, or hop on the metro. Place Vendôme is VERY chic…home to the Ritz Hotel where Princess Diana spent her last evening.    The famous jewelry shops are all here as well.  Speaking of shopping, this might be the perfect time to hit the department stores!    Everyone needs a French fashion fix!  In the evening, we will visit the Arc de Triomphe and stroll down the Champs Elysées.

DAY FOUR

Our first stop is the Eiffel Tower!  We can go to the very top!  We’ll then spend the afternoon exploring Montmartre!   We’ll visit the white Basilica of Sacré Coeur with a breathtaking view of Paris.   We’ll walk to the bustling artists’ square and watch artists at work.  We can walk by Vincent Van Gogh’s house and the famous Moulin Rouge!

DAY FIVE

We have an errand to do first thing! We will visit a grocery store which is a perfect place for small gifts and also people may bring home some of the fabulous foods they have learned about!     Then it’s another “museum morning!”   This time we visit the Musée d’Orsay, an old train station that houses the most famous of all Impressionists’ works!  You’ll see Monet, Manet, Degas’ ballerinas and more! It’s a thrill to actually stand in front of paintings you know so well!  The rest of the day is free, to be decided!  Options include more shopping, strolling through the Luxembourg Gardens on the left bank, or a riverboat cruise, Napoleon’s tomb,  among other activities.

DAY SIX

Today finds us on a train headed 20 minutes outside of Paris to the Chateau de Versailles, Louis XIV’s opulent palace.  You’ll have an audioguide visit of the apartments, and we can stroll through the famous gardens!   We then return to Paris. I’ve left this afternoon free to do the things that might still be on your “to do” list!

DAY SEVEN

Alas, we must depart today. After breakfast at the hotel, we will return by bus to the Charles de Gaulle airport for our flight home.  I will help you through the detaxe process to get your tax refunds!
